Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will play a key role in delivering engineering excellence, driving continuous improvement, reducing downtime, and ensuring all maintenance activities support production requirements. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage and develop the engineering team to deliver outstanding performance.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are completed safely and in line with company standards.
  • Maximise engineering resources to support operational requirements.
  • Drive a proactive maintenance culture through effective preventative maintenance planning.
  • Analyse downtime trends, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage engineering KPIs and communicate performance across the business.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, customer requirements, BRC standards, and internal procedures.
  • Manage engineering budgets, labour costs, and contractor expenditure.

  • You will have experience leading maintenance teams in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Have experience of managing a team.
  • Bringing strong technical understanding of plant, machinery and maintenance systems.
  • You will have knowledge of health and safety requirements and safe systems of work.
  • Be able to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience of coaching, developing and motivating others is essential.
  • HNC/HND (or higher) in an Engineering discipline.
  • IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent qualification.
