Are you a Fabric Technologist who really knows your yarns, fibres and fabrics? We are partnering with a major UK retailer looking for an experienced Fabric Technologist to join its established Menswear Tailoring team. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who wants to do more than maintain standards. You’ll have the scope to source, develop, innovate and elevate fabric quality, working closely with Designers, Buyers, Merchandisers, Garment Technologists and an international supplier base.
What you’ll be doing:
- Sourcing and developing fabrics and yarns
- Travelling to factories, mills and laundries
- Driving fabric development and continuously improving quality
- Working closely with suppliers to set, review and raise technical standards
- Identifying opportunities for innovation and product development
- Applying your knowledge of fibres, fabrics and performance to technical decisions
- Ensuring products meet the required legal and internal quality standards
- Becoming a key technical voice within the wider Menswear product team
What we’re looking for:
- Strong, proven experience within Fabric Technology
- Excellent knowledge of yarns, fibres, fabrics and performance
- A meticulous eye for technical detail
- Confidence working cross-functionally with product, buying and design teams
- Strong communication and supplier-management skills
- The ability to operate at a senior technical level and influence product decisions
- Experience within tailoring / mix & match product would be a major advantage
