About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Data Centre Engineer to join a leading team supporting multiple data centre environments across Leicester. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional with a strong background in data centre operations and structured cabling who is looking for a long-term contract opportunity with potential for extension.
The successful candidate will work within critical infrastructure environments, delivering work to exceptionally high standards while supporting a range of cabling and connectivity projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation and maintenance of structured cabling systems.
- Working with both copper and fibre cabling (primarily pre-terminated solutions).
- Supporting multiple data centre environments and critical infrastructure facilities.
- Following strict processes, procedures, and quality standards.
- Carrying out cable routing, dressing, labelling, testing, and documentation.
- Working safely and professionally within live operational environments.
- Participating in an on-call rota as required.
Requirements
- Previous Data Centre Engineer experience.
- Proven experience working within live data centre environments.
- Experience with structured cabling installations.
- Knowledge of both copper and fibre cabling systems.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering work to exceptionally high standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible approach to working shifts, including days, nights, and on-call duties.
Working Pattern
- 4 On / 4 Off rotating shift pattern
- Mix of day shifts and night shifts
- 12-hour shifts
- Participation in an on-call rota
Training
A comprehensive training period of approximately 2-3 months will be provided. Following successful completion of training, there will be opportunities to undertake additional shifts and increase earning potential.
Contract Details
