Hours: Monday to Thursday: 2:30pm - 11:00pm | Friday: 11:30am - 5:00pm

Quest Employment are recruiting! Quest Employment is looking for an experienced CNC Turner Setter Operator to join one of the UK's leading subcontract engineering manufacturers in Leicester.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly skilled production team, working with modern CNC turning machinery to manufacture precision-engineered components to the highest quality standards.

The Role

  • Setting and operating CNC Turning machines, including single and twin spindle lathes.
  • Producing high-quality precision components in accordance with complex engineering drawings.
  • Making machine adjustments to ensure components meet exact specifications and tight tolerances.
  • Working to achieve production targets and allocated operation times.
  • Carrying out in-process quality inspections using a variety of measuring equipment.
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, dimensions, and tolerances accurately.
  • Working closely with the Quality and Production teams to ensure machining capability and product quality.
  • Maintaining high standards of workmanship and housekeeping within the machine shop.
  • Undertaking ad-hoc CNC programming duties where appropriate and within your level of experience.
  • Following all Health & Safety procedures and company policies at all times.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience setting and operating CNC Turning lathes.
  • Previous experience within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Good understanding of machining tolerances and precision engineering.
  • Experience using manual inspection equipment such as micrometers, verniers, and gauges.
  • Knowledge of cutting tools and machining different materials is advantageous.
  • Understanding of quality standards, including ISO 9001.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Reliable, motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
