Your responsibilities will include:
Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance across the site

Completing a broad range of hands-on repairs and general building maintenance

Diagnosing faults and resolving maintenance issues efficiently

Undertaking minor plumbing, basic electrical, carpentry, painting, decorating and general fabric repairs within your level of competence

Responding to maintenance requests and ensuring issues are dealt with promptly

Providing practical guidance and support to junior maintenance operatives

Ensuring maintenance work is completed safely and in accordance with relevant procedures

Maintaining accurate records of works completed

Proactively identifying maintenance issues before they develop into larger problems

Supporting the wider Facilities Management team with the smooth day-to-day operation of the site

About You

We're looking for someone who has built up strong practical maintenance experience and is comfortable taking on additional responsibility within a team.
You'll ideally have:
Previous experience within a hands-on building maintenance, facilities or property environment

Strong general maintenance and repair skills

Experience across multiple areas of building maintenance rather than a single specialist trade

A proactive approach to fault finding and problem solving

Previous experience supporting, mentoring or guiding junior team members

The confidence to take the lead on maintenance issues when required

Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues, contractors and building users

A strong understanding of health & safety within a maintenance environment

Good organisation skills and the ability to prioritise competing maintenance requirements

A reliable, practical and hands-on approach

A relevant trade or maintenance qualification would be advantageous, although strong practical experience will be equally important.

Salary up to Β£35,000 per annum

Permanent opportunity based in Leeds

A senior position with responsibility for guiding and supporting junior operatives

A varied, genuinely hands-on maintenance role

Opportunity to take greater responsibility without moving away from practical maintenance work
