We have an exciting opportunity for a Programme Reporting Lead within the Asset Delivery PMO Team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers.

What we do: Everyone has an idea of what a water company does. Here in Yorkshire, we make sure that over 5.4 million people living in the region and the millions of people who visit our region each year can rely on our services, and have clean and safe drinking water on tap and that their wastewater is taken away. But for us, it's so much more than this. We look after communities, protect the environment, and plan to look after Yorkshire's water, today, tomorrow 24/7, 365 days a year. We provide essential water and wastewater services to every corner of the Yorkshire region and play a key role in the region's health, wellbeing, and prosperity.

New environmental legislation, unprecedented levels of investment and changing expectations from customers means that this is an exciting time to discover opportunities within the water industry. The Asset Delivery team deliver Yorkshire Water's major asset investment projects and programmes and are a key part of how we plan to meet the changing expectations of customers and regulators.

Under our Direct Procurement for Customers (DPC) programme, we are supporting a portfolio of nationally significant infrastructure projects and giga-project capital investments across Yorkshire and the wider UK. The DPC Programme is responsible for shaping and delivering major strategic water resource projects that will help secure resilient water supplies and environmental sustainability for future generations.

The Programme Reporting Lead will be an integral member of the PMO and DPC team, providing insight and assurance across programme performance, governance, planning, risk and delivery. This is a unique opportunity to work on some of the water sector's largest and most complex projects, helping to drive informed decision-making on investments of national importance.

The DPC PMO will be closely aligned to the Asset Delivery PMO within Yorkshire Water's Asset Delivery Directorate. It will also work to fulfil and adhere to the requirements of RAPID, the joint regulatory body governing the DPC strategic programme, ensuring robust governance, reporting and programme controls are in place to support successful delivery.

Where you fit in: As the DPC Programme Reporting Lead, you will play a key role in supporting the effective governance, control and performance of Yorkshire Water's Capital Programme. Working within the Delivery Performance & Controls (DPC) team, you will provide insight, assurance and challenge across project planning, schedule management, risk, forecasting, governance and performance management processes. You will help ensure projects are delivered in line with approved scope, schedule, cost and quality expectations through the provision of robust analysis, controls and performance information.

What you'll be doing: As a DPC Programme Reporting Lead you will:

  • Support the development and maintenance of programme and project controls processes across DPC Programme.
  • Analyse project and programme performance across key delivery metrics, identifying trends, risks, issues and opportunities.
  • Support the review of project plans, schedules, forecasts and performance data through reporting and analysis, ensuring information is accurate, complete and fit for decision-making.
  • Monitor compliance with project lifecycle, governance and approval processes, escalating areas of concern where required.
  • Assist in the development and continuous improvement of project controls tools, reporting and performance frameworks.
  • Support risk and opportunity management activities, including the analysis of project and programme risk exposure.
  • Contribute to schedule and cost performance assessments to support informed decision-making.
  • Work with Project Managers, PMO teams and delivery partners to improve data quality and strengthen project controls maturity.
  • Produce insightful analysis and recommendations that support successful programme delivery and continuous improvement.

This role is about providing confidence in the information used to manage our Direct Procured for Customers programme, ensuring robust controls are in place and helping project teams make better informed decisions.

What skills & qualifications you will need: Degree level qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline. Experience working within a PMO, Project Controls, Programme Controls or Project Management environment. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends and provide actionable insight. Advanced Excel skills and experience using Power BI or similar reporting and visualisation tools. Experience of working with large datasets and producing high-quality management information. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively and influence outcomes. Excellent attention to detail, with a commitment to data quality, governance and continuous improvement.

You will also benefit from having: Experience using project planning and scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project. Experience of project controls disciplines including planning, scheduling, risk management, cost management or forecasting. Knowledge of earned value management, schedule performance analysis or investment governance processes. Experience of working within a regulated environment. Understanding of major project or infrastructure delivery programmes. Familiarity with Monte Carlo risk analysis, quantitative risk assessment or scenario modelling.
