hackajob is partnering directly with Jet2.com and Jet2holidays to hire for this role. We're looking for a new Data Governance Manager to join our team. This is a genuine opportunity to make your mark - not just to hold the fort, but to drive meaningful progress on one of our most strategically important programmes.

You'll be the operational lead for Enterprise Data Governance & Domain Modelling across our Data Engineering & Analytics function - a shared service that underpins the entire enterprise data ecosystem. Reporting directly to the GM of Data Governance & Quality, you'll own the delivery of governance frameworks, data catalogue maturation, risk mitigation, and stakeholder engagement at all levels of the organisation.

This is a role with real breadth: from engaging C-suite executive sponsors to hands-on management of Alation as our enterprise data catalogue, from championing AI-assisted automation in governance workflows to partnering with the DPO on data privacy compliance. If you're someone who thrives at the intersection of strategy and delivery, this role was built for you.

Please note, this is a fixed term contract (12 months) to cover Maternity leave.

As our new Data Governance Manager you'll have access to a wide range of benefits including:

  • Hybrid working (we're in the office 2 days a week)
  • Colleague discounts on Jet2.com flights and Jet2holidays packages
  • Many retail discounts on travel and leisure, health, and wellbeing, eating out, shopping and lifestyle

At Jet2.com and Jet2holidays we're working together to deliver an amazing journey, literally! We work together to really drive forward a 'Customer First' ethos, creating unforgettable package holidays and flights. We couldn't do it without our wonderful people.

What you'll be doing:

Reporting to our Data Governance Manager, in this role your key responsibilities will be assisting in the rollout of an enterprise-wide data governance framework, with a key focus on one or more of the following areas:

  • You'll build on our established enterprise data catalogue solution, ensuring it continues to evolve as the central source for documenting data assets across the business. This includes owning and maintaining the relationships with Data Owners and Data Stewards in a number of data domains.
  • You'll drive the adoption and implementation of a data quality by design framework which includes people and processes associated with it across all areas of Jet2 and its data domains, as well as defining data standards and data quality rules with your specific data domains, data delivery teams and self-service analytics users to ensure standards are appropriate and embedded into delivery practices.
  • Working with stakeholders across data, security, legal and the business to develop and implement new and existing data practices around the use and management of data both at source and for analytical purposes, notably aligning and supporting our open data policy for all analytical data.

What you'll have:

  • Experience working in data governance-related roles, which could include data cataloguing or data quality tooling.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential for this role as you will be expected to proactively engage with a wide variety of stakeholders from across our business covering both technical and non-technical roles across all levels of seniority up to and including Director.

Ideally, you'll also have:

  • Familiarity with data analytics platforms and delivery would be a distinct advantage including experience working with data engineering, data analytics, data visualisation and data science teams using platforms such as Alation, Soda, Microsoft SQL Server, Google Cloud Platform, DBT, Snowflake Cloud Data Platform, Tableau and Dataiku (or similar).
