We are working with an established and highly regarded law firm who are looking to recruit a Conveyancing Assistant to join their busy residential property team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous conveyancing experience who is looking to develop their career within a supportive and professional legal environment.
The Role
Working closely with the Conveyancer and wider residential property team, you will provide high-quality administrative and legal support throughout the conveyancing process. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the day-to-day management of residential conveyancing files.
- Preparing and issuing correspondence and legal documentation.
- Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders and other solicitors.
- Ordering searches and dealing with search results.
- Assisting with enquiries and progressing transactions.
- Requesting and reviewing relevant documentation.
- Preparing files for exchange and completion.
- Updating clients regularly on the progress of their transactions.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case management records.
- Carrying out general administrative duties to support the conveyancing team.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Previous experience working as a Conveyancing Assistant or Legal Secretary within a conveyancing department.
- A good understanding of the residential conveyancing process.
- Excellent organisational and administration skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a busy team.
- A proactive approach and the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
- Good IT skills and experience using legal case management systems would be advantageous.
