Our client, a leading manufacturer with over 30 years' experience, is hiring for a talented Product Design Engineer to join their team in Lancaster. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative products across Medical, Laboratory, Automotive, and other sectors.
What you'll be doing:
- Develop new products and modify existing ones from initial brief through to production, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet specifications.
- Assist in identifying product requirements, support feasibility studies, and contribute to project quotations.
- Generate and verify design ideas, optimise product specifications, and identify opportunities for patent protection.
- Conduct risk analysis, FMEA, and validation activities to ensure product quality and conformity.
- Manage projects from concept to delivery, organise procurement, and monitor progress against milestones.
- Maintain accurate records in line with ISO standards and company procedures, challenging existing methods where appropriate.
What you'll bring:
- Proven experience in engineering project development and design, with proficiency in 3D CAD.
- Knowledge of injection moulded component design and validation processes (IQ, OQ, PQ).
- Strong analytical skills, including FMEA and risk analysis.
- Understanding of Design for Manufacture and ISO quality standards (ISO 9001, ISO 13485 desirable).
- Ability to manage multiple projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and communicate effectively.
- Minimum of three years' relevant engineering experience.
