Are you passionate about creating safe environments and driving a strong safety culture across large-scale capital projects? You will play a key role in ensuring our capital investment projects are delivered safely, working closely with project managers, engineers and site teams to embed best practice and protect our people every day.
How you will make an impact:
- As Projects Health & Safety Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring all capital projects across the site portfolio are delivered safely and in full compliance with legal and company standards.
- This includes a wide range of activities such as construction works, civil engineering projects, and the installation of new plant and equipment.
- You will act as a key advisor to the projects team, embedding a proactive safety culture across the site.
- Lead health & safety planning and risk assessments for capital projects.
- Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and Arla H&S standards through audits and site inspections.
- Influence project design to eliminate or reduce risks at an early stage.
- Collaborate closely with contractors, leading pre-start meetings, toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- Investigate incidents and near misses, driving corrective actions and continuous improvement.
You will be part of the Projects team, reporting to the Head of Capital Projects, and working closely with the site EHS team and wider factory functions.
What will make you successful:
- We are looking for a health & safety professional with strong experience within capital projects or construction environments.
- To succeed in this role, you will bring a NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent) and solid knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations such as CDM.
- You will also have proven experience supporting or leading health and safety within capital or construction projects, ideally covering construction, civils and plant installation activities, along with the ability to influence stakeholders and embed a positive safety culture.
- On a personal level, you are proactive and confident in challenging unsafe behaviours, collaborative in how you work across teams and disciplines, and calm and pragmatic in high-risk or fast-paced environments.
