Our client is seeking a proactive Project Engineer to join their growing engineering team. This is a varied role involving the design, development, and delivery of bespoke materials handling systems, taking projects from concept through to installation and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
The Project Engineer will manage engineering aspects of projects from initial concept through to manufacture, installation, testing, and commissioning.
Produce 2D and 3D general arrangement drawings and system layouts using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
The Project Engineer will design and develop engineering solutions including conveyors, structures, access platforms, walkways, chutes, and associated equipment.
Create detailed manufacturing drawings, models, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
Work closely with customers, suppliers, project managers, sales teams, and manufacturing departments to deliver successful projects.
Attend site visits to take measurements, support installations, and oversee commissioning activities.
Produce technical specifications, manuals, and engineering documentation.
Drive continuous improvement by challenging existing designs and identifying innovative engineering solutions.
Skills & Experience
The Project Engineer will need to have strong experience using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
Experience producing GA drawings, detailed designs, and engineering documentation.
Knowledge of fabrication, sheet metal, and special-purpose machinery design, ideally conveyors or materials handling equipment.
Experience with BOM management and ERP/MRP systems.
Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
