We are recruiting for an experienced Heating/Gas Engineer to join a busy housing maintenance team, carrying out work across residential and corporate properties. The role will predominantly involve installation work, alongside maintenance and repairs as required. You will work independently and as part of a wider repairs team, completing works safely, efficiently and to the required standards.
The Role
- Carrying out gas and heating installation, maintenance and repair work
- Predominantly undertaking planned installation work
- Completing responsive and emergency repairs when required
- Routine servicing, maintenance, testing and inspection
- Working on void properties and remedial works
- Completing reports and certification electronically
- Ordering materials and requesting follow-on works
- Ensuring all work complies with current gas regulations, RAMS and safe systems of work
Essential Qualifications
- Candidates must hold current Gas Safe registration and the relevant technical qualifications, including:
- CCN1 Core Gas Safety
- CPA1
- CKR1
- CENWAT1
- MET1
- HTR1 Range Cooker
- Unvented Hot Water
You must also have practical experience of gas installations and repairs. Experience within social housing maintenance would be particularly advantageous.
Additional Requirements
- Full, valid UK driving licence travel to properties is required
- Good customer service and interpersonal skills
- Health and safety awareness
- Comfortable using mobile/electronic devices to complete job records
- Willingness to undertake relevant training, including CAT B asbestos training
- Willingness to participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota when required
