Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Quality Engineer located in Kendal, UK. Reporting to the Quality Lead (BAR), the Quality Engineer is primarily responsible for the day-to-day management of quality issues within the IBAR product range at the K1 Kendal site whilst also providing support to other product lines, at other UK sites as required. This role is primarily focused on the effective control, investigation, and resolution of non-conformances, ensuring minimal disruption to production while maintaining compliance to customer and internal requirements.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Manage internal and external non-conformances, ensuring timely containment, investigation, and corrective actions.
  • Lead root cause investigations using structured problem-solving methodologies such as 5 Whys, 8D, and Ishikawa.
  • Act as the primary quality support for production teams, providing guidance and driving a right-first-time culture.
  • Conduct daily Material Review Board (MRB) meetings to support decisions regarding concessions, rework, and scrap.
  • Analyze quality performance data, identify trends, monitor KPIs, and communicate risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Partner with customers and internal stakeholders to address quality concerns, provide updates, and support corrective action reporting.
  • Support internal, supplier, and customer audits while ensuring compliance with quality processes and customer requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product quality, operational performance, and customer satisfaction.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
  • At least 2+ years of experience in a Quality Engineer role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Proven experience managing non-conformances and conducting root cause analysis.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality methodologies such as 5 Whys, 8D, and FMEA.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience using quality systems and reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to collaborate with production teams, customers, and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Internal Auditor qualification and experience supporting customer or supplier audits would be an advantage.
