People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our client's established transport operation based in Linwood. You must be aged 25 or over for insurance purposes.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering £40,000 per annum for an experienced driver to join a professional transport operation carrying out deliveries and collections throughout the UK. The role offers the opportunity to work within an experienced driving team, with a strong focus on safety, compliance, and providing a high standard of service.

This role would suit candidates with experience as an LGV Class 1 Driver, Category C+E Driver, or Articulated Lorry Driver.

  • Rates of Pay: £40,000 per annum
  • Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, Night shifts 19:00 - 05:00, Flexibility in working hours may be required to meet operational requirements

Day-to-Day Duties:

  • Operating Class 1 (Category C+E) vehicles safely and efficiently
  • Completing deliveries and collections throughout the UK
  • Loading and unloading vehicles in line with company procedures
  • Using appropriate loading and unloading equipment
  • Ensuring all loads are safely secured before and during transportation
  • Maintaining the security and integrity of loads throughout the delivery process
  • Carrying out all duties in accordance with relevant legislation and company procedures
  • Complying with vehicle safety requirements and road traffic legislation
  • Operating digital tachographs correctly and in accordance with current regulations
  • Adhering to drivers' hours legislation and the Working Time Directive
  • Maintaining a professional and courteous approach when dealing with customers, colleagues, and management

Essential Skills:

  • A valid UK Category C+E Driving Licence
  • A valid Driver CPC / DQC
  • A valid Digital Tachograph Card
  • New pass accepted
  • Applicants must be over 25 years old due to insurance requirements
  • Good knowledge of UK roads and major routes
  • Good understanding of the Highway Code and applicable vehicle speed limits
  • Good knowledge of drivers' hours, tachograph regulations, and the Working Time Directive
  • Experience of manually loading, unloading, and securing freight
  • A reliable, professional, and safety-conscious approach to work

The following are considered unacceptable:

  • Drink or drug-related endorsements within the past 10 years
  • Any driving disqualifications within the past five years
  • Any licence codes beginning with IN, CD, DD, DR, or BA

Training:

  • Required CAA training following satisfactory background checks
  • Ongoing support within a professional transport environment
