This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone who enjoys practical problem-solving, customer support and learning how engineering products are selected for real-world applications. Customers will contact the organisation with a requirement, enquiry or problem, and you will help identify suitable pumps, controls, drives, fittings and accessories. You will also support colleagues with product information, quotations, enquiry tracking and day-to-day customer communication. Full product and application training will be provided.

You will gain exposure to a broad product portfolio across water pumps, control panels, variable speed drives, plastic fittings and associated accessories, while developing your engineering knowledge, communication skills and commercial awareness. This role would suit a recent graduate, HND or HNC qualified candidate, or someone with a related technical background who enjoys working with people, interpreting technical information and turning customer requirements into practical solutions.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Junior Mechanical or Electrical Engineer / Graduate Engineer include:

  • Customer Enquiries: Respond to customer enquiries by phone and email, providing prompt, clear and professional support
  • Product Selection: Interpret customer requirements and help identify suitable pump systems and associated equipment
  • Practical Solutions: Recommend appropriate products based on the customer's application, specification or problem
  • Quotations: Prepare and issue accurate, competitive quotations based on customer requirements
  • Colleague Support: Support the internal team with product information, application guidance and commercial insight
  • Product Knowledge: Build knowledge across pumps, control panels, variable speed drives, plastic fittings and accessories
  • Customer Communication: Answer incoming telephone calls and help resolve or direct queries effectively
  • Troubleshooting Support: Provide basic guidance and practical support where required
  • Administration: Assist with order processing, enquiry tracking and general office administration
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of enquiries, quotations and customer communications
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across sales, operations and technical teams to support smooth day-to-day activities
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

  • HND, HNC or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline
  • Interest in practical engineering applications, product selection and customer support
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good problem-solving ability and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple enquiries and prioritise workload effectively
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Customer-focused mindset and willingness to help
  • Ability to interpret technical information and translate it into practical solutions
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Flexible, proactive team player
  • Motivation to learn and grow within a customer-focused engineering environment

  • Knowledge or interest in pumps, motors, fluid handling or water systems
