The Finance Director will lead X-on Health's financial strategy in line with group processes, governance, and performance management, ensuring the business is financially robust, well-controlled, and positioned for sustainable growth in the UK primary care market. This role is both strategic and hands-on, partnering closely with the Group CFO, MD and local leadership team to support commercial decision-making, investment priorities, and long-term planning while maintaining strong financial discipline.
Key Tasks:
- Financial Strategy & Leadership
- Own and evolve X-on Health's financial strategy, aligned to the company's mission to support GP surgeries and primary care.
- Act as a trusted strategic partner to the MD, providing clear financial insight on growth initiatives, product investment, pricing, and customer strategy.
- Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and multi-year financial plans, taking into account NHS funding cycles and procurement dynamics.
- Financial Control & Reporting
- Full responsibility for monthly management accounts, statutory accounts, and Board reporting.
- Ensure robust financial controls and compliance to group policies and processes.
- Oversee tax, VAT, payroll, and statutory compliance.
- Commercial & Finance
- Own SaaS and commercial metrics, including ARR/MRR, MRGP, churn, and customer lifetime value.
- Support pricing, contract structures, and commercial terms for GP practices, PCNs, and other NHS customers.
- Provide financial input into tenders, framework opportunities, and larger NHS contracts, balancing growth, margin, and risk.
- Cashflow Reporting
- Weekly cashflow forecasts to be provided to group.
- Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Oversee financial aspects of operating in a regulated healthcare environment, working alongside operational and compliance leads.
- Ensure financial readiness for NHS assurance processes, audits, and due diligence.
- Identify and actively manage financial and commercial risks.
- Team & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with group to ensure standardised accounting and reporting is achieved.
- Lead and develop the finance function, scaling systems and processes as X-on Health grows.
- Work closely with Sales, Product, Customer Success, and Operations to ensure financial alignment and decision-making.
- Communicate financial performance clearly and credibly to the Board and senior stakeholders.
What will you need to be successful?
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
- Senior finance leadership experience in SaaS, software, or technology-enabled services.
- Strong understanding of subscription revenue models and commercial finance.
- Experience operating in regulated, public-sector, or NHS-adjacent environments.
- Comfortable operating at both strategic and detail-oriented, hands-on levels.
- Commercial, pragmatic, and outcome-focused.
- Confident influencing at MD and Board level.
