SALARY: £27,686 per annum + Benefits

LOCATION: Hybrid. You will predominantly work remotely but will be required to travel regularly to workplaces across Suffolk to meet Apprentices and their Employers. You will need to be based in Suffolk.

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 40 Hours per Week

JOB OVERVIEW

This is a rewarding opportunity for an Early Years Tutor to support apprentices across Suffolk and the surrounding areas, delivering high-quality teaching, coaching and assessment. The Early Years Tutor will manage a caseload of apprentices, support learner progress and work closely with employers to help apprentices achieve the knowledge, skills and behaviours required for a successful career in early years education.

As an Early Years Tutor, you will deliver apprenticeship standards, carry out workplace reviews and assessments, support preparation for End-Point Assessment, embed English, Maths and professional behaviours, and maintain accurate learner records.

DUTIES

  • Learner Support: Manage a caseload of apprentices, keeping learners engaged, motivated and on track to complete their apprenticeship.
  • Teaching and Assessment: Deliver high-quality teaching, coaching and assessment for Early Years apprenticeship standards.
  • Workplace Reviews: Carry out regular progress reviews, workplace assessments and individual learning checks with apprentices and employers.
  • Learning Plans: Identify individual learner needs and design tailored learning activities that support progress and achievement.
  • Employer Relationships: Build strong relationships with employers, supporting programme quality, apprentice recruitment and regional growth.
  • End-Point Assessment Preparation: Support apprentices to prepare effectively for assessment and achieve positive outcomes.
  • Records and Compliance: Maintain accurate learner records, e-portfolio updates and documentation in line with funding, quality and awarding body requirements.
  • Quality Standards: Take part in standardisation activity, quality assurance processes and internal verification as required.
  • Safeguarding: Promote health and safety, equality, diversity, inclusion and safeguarding in line with organisational policies.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

  • Level 3 or above qualification in Early Years.
  • Recent industry experience within an Early Years setting.
  • Experience of teaching, mentoring, coaching or supporting the development of others.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage apprentices, employers and colleagues.
  • Excellent organisational and digital skills, with the ability to manage a caseload, maintain accurate records and meet deadlines.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality learning and supporting apprentices to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Full Drivers licence.

This role involves regulated activity and any offer of employment is conditional upon the successful completion of pre-employment checks, including an enhanced DBS check.

DESIRABLE

  • Assessor qualification such as A1, CAVA or equivalent.
  • Teaching qualification or experience tutoring or mentoring.
  • Experience of working with e-portfolio systems or learner management information and data systems.
  • Familiarity with apprenticeship funding rules.
  • Experience of coaching or mentoring people with mixed abilities.
  • Sales, employer engagement or business development skills.
