My client is a well-established Foodservice business who have a fantastic reputation for their top-quality products and level of service which they provide to a number of different sectors. They are seeking a Business Development Manager to join their team. The successful Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving new customer acquisition and expanding their footprint across the independent hospitality sector, by expanding new business performance, coaching sales representatives, identifying growth opportunities, and ensuring the team delivers against ambitious revenue and margin targets.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead, motivate, and develop a team of independent field sales representatives
  • Drive new business acquisition within independent restaurants, cafés, takeaways, pubs, and hospitality venues
  • Set and monitor sales targets, KPIs, and performance metrics
  • Support the team in identifying and converting new business opportunities
  • Conduct joint customer visits and provide on-the-ground coaching
  • Develop regional sales strategies to increase market share
  • Analyse sales performance, pipeline activity, and market trends
  • Work closely with senior leadership, procurement, and operations teams to deliver strong commercial outcomes
  • Ensure excellent customer onboarding and long-term relationship development

The Ideal Business Development Manager Candidate:

  • Proven experience in foodservice wholesale, FMCG, or hospitality supply sales
  • Experience managing or mentoring field-based sales teams
  • A strong understanding of the independent hospitality sector
  • Demonstrated success in winning new business and driving revenue growth
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and motivational skills
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
  • Ability to analyse sales performance and implement improvement strategies
  • Full UK driving licence
