The successful Supplier Development Lead will be easily able to commute to HUDDERSFIELD from surrounding towns & cities, including Leeds, Dewsbury, Halifax, Wakefield and Brighouse.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the end-to-end supplier onboarding and approval process, ensuring suppliers meet defined quality, capability, financial, security and compliance requirements before inclusion on the Approved Vendor List (AVL).
  • Conduct supplier capability, capacity and due-diligence assessments, including audits and documentation reviews, providing evidence-based recommendations on supplier readiness and suitability.
  • Drive supplier development and continuous improvement initiatives, managing performance improvement plans to enhance quality, operational controls, capacity planning and delivery performance.
  • Support programmes, bids and manufacturing outsourcing activities through early supplier engagement, readiness assessments and risk mitigation to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Identify, assess and manage supplier risks relating to capacity, financial stability, compliance and single-source dependencies, contributing to supply chain resilience and contingency planning.
  • Develop and strengthen the supply base by identifying capability gaps, sourcing or developing new suppliers, and supporting long-term strategic supplier partnerships aligned to business growth objectives.
  • Maintain supplier governance, reporting and records while collaborating with Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering and Programme teams as the subject matter expert for supplier capability, readiness and supply chain maturity.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Experience working within complex supply chains, monitoring and developing suppliers of direct and indirect goods or services.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 85% nationally and 15% internationally.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Salary & Benefits: up to £60,000 depending on experience, flexible working hours, Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, 25 Days annual leave + Bank holidays, company pension contributions of up to 8%.
