Purpose of the role To support the efficient and safe operation of the Carding Department by maintaining carding equipment to the highest standard, ensuring optimal machine performance, product quality, and production continuity.
The role plays a key part in delivering a clean, safe, and efficient working environment while contributing to continuous improvement across departmental operations.
The day to day To adhere to the Camira Code of Conduct and comply with all relevant quality, environmental, health & safety, data protection, and corporate legislative requirements.
Carry out roller fettling using approved tools and techniques to optimise machine performance and product quality.
Monitor equipment condition, identifying and reporting defects, wear, or maintenance requirements to minimise downtime.
Support consistent production output by ensuring card wire and associated components are maintained to the required standard.
Operate specialist fettling equipment safely and in accordance with standard operating procedures and risk assessments.
Contribute to housekeeping excellence by maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
Collaborate with colleagues across the Carding Department to support operational priorities and resolve production issues.
Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency.
Participate in training and development activities to maintain and enhance technical knowledge and skills.
Other Considerations Previous textile manufacturing or spinning mill experience is essential.
