About us: We are Thomas Brown Engineering Ltd, based in Huddersfield. We are manufacturers of bespoke precision machined components and supply these to our customers in sectors such as food & drink, oil & gas, medtech, aerospace and defence. Due to high customer demand, we are growing our team!

About the role:

  • Setting and operating CNC machines with Heidenhain/ISO/Fanuc controls
  • Working within tight tolerances
  • Accurately completing work logs on production control software and creating/reading computerised tooling sheets
  • Confidently using measuring tools to check work before it is taken to our quality control department
  • Partake in lean training and actively contribute to our lean initiative by undertaking daily improvements to share with the team

About you:

  • In either turning, milling or both, good experience and proven skills in CNC setting and operating in a sub-contract precision machining environment
  • A team player who is flexible with a 'can do' attitude
  • Someone who pays close attention to detail, has a commitment to quality and a desire to offer consistently high-quality parts to our customers
  • A team member with either experience of lean workplaces and/or a keen interest to learn and grow within a lean culture

  • Competitive hourly rate (dependant on level of skill we offer between £17/hour plus monthly bonus and £20/hour plus monthly bonus)
  • 4 day working week (Mon-Thurs 7am - 5pm)
