Are you an experienced Architectural Technologist who enjoys solving complex technical challenges rather than simply producing repetitive drawing packages? Recruit Build is working with an established, growing construction consultancy that delivers major residential refurbishment, regeneration and high-rise housing projects across the UK.

This is an opportunity to join a highly experienced technical team and work on schemes where your knowledge of construction, detailing and Building Regulations will genuinely influence how projects are delivered.

The Role

You will take responsibility for developing and coordinating detailed technical information across projects from the early design stages through to construction and completion. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Producing coordinated technical drawing and construction packages
  • Preparing information for planning, Building Regulations, tender and construction
  • Developing practical detailing solutions for residential refurbishment and high-rise buildings
  • Coordinating information with structural engineers, MEP consultants, contractors and other project stakeholders
  • Reviewing designs against current Building Regulations, British Standards and planning requirements
  • Attending site inspections, surveys and construction reviews
  • Identifying and resolving technical and buildability issues
  • Supporting project programmes, technical reviews and quality assurance procedures

What We're Looking For

You should have:

  • A degree, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in Architectural Technology or a related discipline
  • At least five years post-qualification experience within the UK construction industry
  • Experience delivering residential refurbishment projects
  • Strong technical knowledge of high-rise residential buildings
  • A thorough understanding of UK Building Regulations and construction methods
  • Experience producing detailed working drawing and construction packages
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
  • Strong coordination, communication and workload-management skills

Experience of the following would be particularly beneficial:

  • The Building Safety Act and Gateway submissions
  • Fire safety requirements and façade detailing
  • BIM processes and common data environments
  • CIAT membership or progress towards Chartered status

Applications are also welcomed from technically strong Architects or RIBA Part 2 Architectural Assistants who are looking to complete Part 3 within the next six months and can demonstrate the relevant residential experience.

Why Apply?

This consultancy has built a strong reputation within the social housing sector and continues to secure a varied pipeline of technically challenging projects. The package includes:

  • Salary to £45,000
  • Up to 30 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Hybrid working
  • The option of a nine-day fortnight
  • Company bonus schemes
  • Contributory pension of between 3% and 5%
  • Life assurance at four times salary

  • Payment of professional subscriptions, training and examination fees
  • Fully funded training and regular in-house CPD
