M Group Transport
Our Aviation Survey team manages a wide range of specialist survey activities. Our dedicated surveyors have built and maintained relationships with our clients, working with sensitive information in safety and security critical operational environments, providing specialist geotechnical services. Delivering primarily in the Aviation sector we have an exciting opportunity to unlock growth in our Rail, Highways, Ports and Defence sectors, with further scope within our Energy, Technology & Communications and Water divisions.
What will you be doing?
Are you skilled at managing clients and developing new client relations, understanding contractual obligations, monitoring staff performance and multiple activities? Do you excel at preparing tenders and ensuring competitive processes? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!
- You will monitor staff performance and delivery activities.
- Prepare tenders and ensure resources for health, safety, and environmental issues.
- Control contract budgets to ensure commercial success by managing budgets and monitoring costs.
- Conduct site safety inspections and review findings with Project Managers.
- Efficiently manage resources to deliver a quality end product with minimal environmental risk.
- Understand the contract obligations and commitments.
- Monitor activities to log reimbursable costs and disruptions.
- Implement systems to ensure competent labour and subcontractors are available.
- Coordinate with Client project teams to deliver the required end product.
- Produce monthly reports for the Senior Management Team and attend meetings as required.
- Stay updated with legislation and industry trends.
- Develop opportunities and build long-term relationships with existing clients to maintain a repeat portfolio of work, while developing new and future clients across our transport division and beyond.

What you’ll bring:
- Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering.
- Expert knowledge of Survey Disciplines, including PAS128 (Utility Detection).
- Commitment to the highest practicable standards of health and safety and environmental protection.
- A proven ability to manage and track contracts from tender through to completion.
- Level 5 Leadership & Management Preferable.
- Working knowledge and thorough understanding of CDM roles and SHEQ duties.
- Ability to assess risks including those associated with multiple sectors.
- Experience of managing delivery teams, ranging from numerous smaller contracts to large contracts.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Environmental Awareness.
- Desire for self-development and continuous self-improvement.
- Share knowledge and coach other team members in order to support improvements in teams performance.
- Demonstrate M Group’s values and behaviours.
- CSCS Black/White card Preferable.
- Level 5 or above QCF Certificate in Utility Mapping and Surveying Preferable.
- Experience of using GPR scanners, GPS and RD series equipment Preferable.
