Our client has a requirement for a Quantity Surveyor, who will be required to work on a permanent basis across framework projects based at Gatwick Airport, with one day per week spent at their Liverpool Street office.

Role Purpose: The Quantity Surveyor will provide accurate and value-driven commercial support across a wide range of infrastructure and construction projects. Working as part of an integrated project team, you will ensure that commercial activities are managed effectively, contracts are administered correctly, and financial performance is monitored and reported to support successful project delivery.

Job Role Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage commercial notices and contractual correspondence in a timely and compliant manner.
  • Produce and assess applications for payment, valuations and cost/value reconciliations.
  • Support cost control, forecasting and financial reporting activities.
  • Contribute to monthly reporting covering value, cost, profit/loss, cash flow and budgets.
  • Prepare and assess payment certificates.
  • Assist with risk and value management processes to optimise project performance.
  • Identify, analyse and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Administer contracts in accordance with relevant contractual requirements and company procedures.
  • Prepare supply chain enquiries and support subcontract procurement activities.
  • Negotiate, administer and close out subcontract agreements.
  • Ensure contractual documentation and notifications are managed in accordance with project requirements.
  • Liaise effectively with site teams, subcontractors and client representatives.
  • Promote a strong health, safety and environmental culture across all project activities.

Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:

  • Demonstrable financial and commercial acumen.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts and commercial management principles.
  • Experience in cost control, forecasting and contract administration.
  • Ability to prepare financial reports, valuations and payment certificates.
  • Experience managing documentation, filing systems and document control processes.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Methodical and logical approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative project team.
  • Knowledge of commercial risk management and value engineering principles.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • RICS or CICES accredited degree.
  • Membership of RICS or CICES, or currently working towards professional accreditation.
  • Minimum three years' relevant Quantity Surveying experience.
