We are currently building a new team of drivers for our partnership with Kingspan at our depot in Holywell.

Pay, benefits and more. We are looking for shunters. The salary is £31,467.49 per year, and you will be working 4 on 4 off. 12-hour shifts: Days: 06:00 - 18:00, Nights: 18:00 - 06:00 with Christmas and Bank Holidays off! You’ll also have access to a variety of high street discounts, a cycle to work scheme, a workplace pension and ongoing training including annual CPC and many other perks. 20 days holiday.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • You will be safely driving our HGV Class 1 and Shunt Vehicles in a courteous manner.
  • Covering Shunting requirements on our customers' site.
  • Making sure all goods are correctly strapped before commencing journeys.
  • Driving the latest equipment and operating to safety standards.
  • Safely operate our vehicle delivering Kingspan products.
  • Undertake written pre-shift checks to Tugs ensuring defects are logged.
  • Ensure Tugs are kept clean and tidy and washed weekly.
  • Ensure all duties are carried out with compliance to all XPO SSOWs.
  • Complete daily XPO Trailer Movement log each shift detailing all trailers moved.
  • Ensure tug is refuelled at the end of the shift.
  • Timely escalation of any issues preventing trailer movement.
  • Ensure PPE is regularly inspected and is used at all times.
  • When not shunting trailers, to be involved in Meet and Greet at trailer parks with changeover drivers.
  • Inspect empty trailers upon arrival and advise team of any trailers not prepped for loading or unfit for use.
  • Ensure partial restraints (2x straps) are used for all unsecured movements of product.
  • Be aware of, and act in accordance with, all XPO policies.
  • Bring to the attention of your manager any matter that could be detrimental to the wellbeing of the Company.
  • Carry out any other duties which may reasonably be required by your manager.

What you need to succeed at XPO:

  • Valid LGV C+E Licence.
  • An up to date CPC and DIGI card.
  • No more than 6 points on your licence.
  • No DD, DR or IN endorsements showing on your licence.
