Are you an experienced Water Treatment Engineer looking for a role offering variety, autonomy and the opportunity to work across some of the UK's most important commercial and industrial sites? We are working with a leading specialist in water treatment and water hygiene, who are looking to appoint a Water Treatment Engineer to cover clients across Leicester and the wider Midlands region. This is a hands-on field-based role covering cooling towers, steam boilers and domestic water systems, with a strong focus on water treatment, monitoring and compliance.

The Role

As a Water Treatment Engineer, you'll visit a range of commercial and industrial sites, carrying out routine water treatment and water hygiene services while ensuring systems remain compliant, safe and operating effectively. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out routine water treatment services on cooling towers and evaporative cooling systems
  • Monitoring and testing steam boiler water systems
  • Conducting water quality testing and analysing results
  • Taking domestic water hygiene samples from client sites
  • Carrying out temperature monitoring and other routine water hygiene checks
  • Collecting samples for laboratory analysis
  • Dosing and monitoring chemical treatment programmes
  • Identifying issues with water systems and recommending appropriate remedial action
  • Completing accurate service reports and maintaining site records
  • Liaising with customers and site contacts regularly
  • Ensuring all work is carried out in line with relevant legislation, standards and company procedures
  • Travelling to customer sites throughout Leicester, the Midlands and surrounding areas

About You

We're looking for someone with experience within water treatment, water hygiene or a related technical environment. You might already be working as a Water Treatment Engineer, Water Hygiene Engineer or Service Engineer, or have relevant experience within a commercial or industrial water treatment environment. You'll ideally have:

  • Experience working with cooling towers and/or steam boiler systems
  • Knowledge of water treatment and chemical dosing
  • Experience carrying out water sampling and testing
  • An understanding of domestic water hygiene and Legionella control
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping
  • Good mechanical and practical ability
  • Excellent customer-facing and communication skills
  • The ability to work independently and manage your own schedule
  • A full UK driving licence
