As Head of Quality, you'll lead quality strategy across a highly regulated pharmaceutical and medical manufacturing operation, ensuring patient safety remains at the heart of everything whilst driving continuous improvement, operational excellence and business growth.

In this critical leadership role, you'll:
- Set the direction - shaping and delivering the quality strategy across multiple manufacturing and technical locations (2x UK, US and Far East).
- Lead from the front, be visible and present - developing and inspiring established quality teams whilst creating a culture of quality beyond compliance (4 direct c30 indirect reports).
- Influence the business - acting as a key member of the senior leadership team, helping shape operational and strategic decisions.
- Drive improvement - championing continuous improvement, modern quality systems and best practice across highly regulated environments.
- Protect what matters most - ensuring patient safety, regulatory compliance and world-class customer service remain central to every decision.
Reporting to the UK Operations Director with a dotted line to the Business Unit Head, you'll have overall responsibility for the quality function across a complex manufacturing business supplying products into highly regulated pharmaceutical and medical markets. This is a genuine leadership role where you'll balance strategic planning with operational execution, working closely with manufacturing, engineering, technical, commercial and external regulatory stakeholders. You'll be responsible for developing quality capability, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting commercial growth and creating a collaborative culture focused on excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all aspects of Quality across pharmaceutical, medical and industrial operations.
- Develop and implement quality strategies aligned to wider business objectives.
- Provide leadership to multi-site quality teams, developing talent and succession plans.
- Ensure GMP, regulatory (MHRA/EudraLex/FDA) and customer quality requirements are met or exceeded.
- Lead customer, regulatory and third-party audits and inspections.
- Maintain oversight of quality systems, change management, deviations, non-conformances and compliance activities.
- Drive a culture centred around quality, collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
You'll be joining a business at an exciting point in its growth journey. To be successful in your application, you'll be able to demonstrate:
- A degree qualification in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Life Sciences or a related scientific discipline.
- Significant experience within pharmaceutical, excipient, API, medical device, specialty chemical or similarly regulated manufacturing environments.
- A strong understanding of GMP and pharmaceutical quality systems.
- Proven experience leading, developing and mentoring Quality professionals.
- Experience operating within complex manufacturing environments where safety, quality and compliance are critical.
- A track record of building high-performing teams and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Exposure to COMAH, process manufacturing, auditing and regulatory inspections would be highly advantageous.
