Working from a dedicated recording studio in Haverhill, you will take ownership of how voices are captured, edited, enhanced and deployed across a growing conversational AI platform. Your work could support an interactive museum exhibit, a healthcare experience, a retail environment, a live event or an entirely new form of digital entertainment.
It's a varied role spanning studio recording, sound design, technical troubleshooting and emerging voice technology. You will work closely with AI engineers, developers, artists and content teams, balancing creative ambition with the technical detail needed to deliver consistently high-quality audio.
What you'll be doing:
- Recording, editing, mixing, mastering and optimising voice content for AI-powered digital characters.
- Configuring professional studio, field and live recording environments.
- Applying noise reduction, audio restoration, echo cancellation and enhancement techniques.
- Supporting voice cloning, text-to-speech and voice synthesis projects.
- Creating sound effects, ambient audio, branded soundscapes and bespoke audio experiences.
- Selecting and optimising microphones for different environments and deployment requirements.
- Testing and improving speech recognition accuracy, voice clarity and conversational performance.
- Configuring and troubleshooting Windows-based audio production systems, interfaces and recording hardware.
- Developing audio production standards, workflows, asset libraries, backup processes and version control.
- Supporting exhibitions, demonstrations, customer installations and live events.
What you'll need:
- Professional experience in audio recording, editing, mixing and mastering.
- A strong understanding of audio signal flow, gain structure, acoustics and recording environment optimisation.
- Experience producing clean, polished and commercial-quality voice or audio content.
- Strong audio restoration and clean-up skills, including noise and echo reduction.
- Experience using software such as Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, Reaper, Cubase, Ableton Live, Audacity or Logic Pro.
- Detailed knowledge of microphone selection and deployment, including dynamic, condenser, lavalier, headset, wireless and directional microphones.
- Experience configuring audio interfaces, recording hardware and Windows-based production systems.
- The ability to diagnose and resolve technical audio issues quickly.
- Some knowledge of speech recognition, text-to-speech, voice synthesis, voice cloning or conversational audio technology.
- Strong organisational skills with experience managing audio assets, libraries and production workflows.
- The confidence to collaborate with technical and creative teams while explaining audio requirements clearly.
- A genuine interest in emerging audio, AI and voice technologies.
- Experience within gaming, immersive technology, interactive media, museums, visitor attractions, live events or themed entertainment would be particularly relevant.
- Knowledge of Unity or Unreal Engine audio workflows, multilingual voice content, digital audio networking, music production or sound design would also be advantageous.
About the company:
This fast-growing creative technology business is developing the next generation of AI-powered digital characters and conversational experiences. They combine voice technology, artificial intelligence, storytelling, creative design and enterprise software to build emotionally engaging experiences for organisations across healthcare, education, retail, entertainment and visitor attractions.
