We are working with a well-established manufacturing business looking to add a Maintenance Engineer to their growing team. This is a hands-on role focused on keeping production and site services running safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. You will play a key part in minimising downtime, supporting continuous improvement, and ensuring all maintenance activities meet both operational and legal requirements.
As a Maintenance Engineer, you will:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in line with schedules
- Respond to and resolve breakdowns quickly and effectively to minimise downtime
- Maintain and repair production machinery and building services equipment
- Support continuous improvement and engineering projects
- Ensure all maintenance work is accurately recorded on internal systems
- Manage and source spare parts within budget constraints
- Work closely with production and leadership teams to maintain output and quality
We are looking for a Maintenance Engineer with a strong mechanical bias and good electrical knowledge:
You will ideally have:
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- Strong fault-finding and root cause analysis skills
- The ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings
- Experience working with planned maintenance systems (CMMS/CPPM)
- A proactive, team-focused approach with strong communication skills
The successful Maintenance Engineer will ideally hold the below qualifications:
- Engineering qualification such as: City & Guilds (P2/P3)
- ONC / HNC in Engineering
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
- Time-served apprenticeship
- Ideally 3 years experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement is beneficial
- Confident using Microsoft Office and maintenance systems
