About the Role
Are you an experienced and passionate Paint Sprayer looking to work on unique automotive projects? E-ppl is a leading supplier of Managed Services within the automotive industry, partnering with major OEMs both in the UK and overseas. We offer fully managed, turn-key solutions ranging from planned launch support to reactive quality campaigns. Currently, one of our premium OEM customers requires specialist Paint Sprayer support for a fast-paced, ongoing project within their facility in Solihull. This project runs 7 days a week on 12-hour shifts.
Core Responsibilities
- Surface Preparation: Removing rust, grease, and dirt from metal surfaces. Filling cavities and dents with putty to attain a perfectly smooth finish.
- Masking & Protection: Carefully masking parts that are not to be painted or coated.
- Mixing & Matching: Formulating and mixing paint and coating liquids according to exact specifications to produce the desired colours.
- Application: Painting surfaces expertly using your own spray gun or brush as appropriate.
- Quality Inspection: Scrutinising painted units for top-tier workmanship, identifying and rectifying any defects such as runs, fisheyes, sags, or unpainted areas.
- Equipment Maintenance: Providing your own high-quality spray gun, ensuring it is used safely and kept in an excellent state of repair. Keeping your work area clean and hazard-free.
- Health & Safety: Strictly adhering to all laws and regulations regarding paints, thinners, and hazardous materials. Wearing required PPE, including air-fed masks, as recommended by manufacturers.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years experience as a Spray Painter within a professional workshop environment.
- Skill & Independence: Ability to work skilfully and safely, both as part of a team and on your own initiative.
- Detail-Oriented: A sharp eye for detail and a commitment to premium quality.
- Adaptability & Stamina: The workload can change from minute to minute, and the project runs on 12-hour shifts, 7 days a week. We need someone who is flexible, highly reliable, and able to work well under pressure.
