Are you an experienced or aspiring SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a meaningful difference in the classroom? We are partnering with a variety of welcoming mainstream primary schools across Huddersfield that require dedicated, compassionate support staff to work alongside pupils with additional educational needs. Whether you are looking for long-term consistency or flexible day-to-day work around your schedule, we have immediate opportunities available.
The Role
- Providing 1:1 and small group support to children with additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and speech and language delays.
- Assisting the class teacher with differentiated learning activities and positive behaviour strategies.
- Creating an inclusive, safe, and engaging learning environment.
- Supporting pupils with sensory breaks, emotional regulation, and social communication.
What We Are Looking For
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN (school, care, nursery, or youth work backgrounds welcome).
- A calm, patient, and proactive approach to behaviour support and learning development.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching & Learning, Team-Teach, or Makaton) are advantageous but not essential.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
