About the Role:

My client is the UK's leading garage equipment provider, delivering installation, maintenance, repair and sales solutions to a wide range of customers including fast-fit centres, franchised dealerships, independent garages and commercial fleet operators. As the business continues to grow, they are looking for a talented CAD Designer to join their established Design team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong AutoCAD experience who enjoys producing accurate technical drawings while working closely with Sales, Project Managers, customers and contractors to deliver high-quality workshop installation projects.

The Role:

As a CAD Designer, you will be responsible for producing detailed workshop layout drawings and technical designs that meet customer requirements, project specifications and industry compliance standards. Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce high-quality CAD layout drawings using AutoCAD LT.
  • Create, amend and finalise workshop equipment installation layouts and associated construction drawings.
  • Interpret sales sketches and customer requirements, converting them into accurate technical drawings.
  • Liaise with customers, architects, contractors, Project Managers and the Sales team throughout the design process.

  • Maintain organised drawing files, templates and documentation for efficient project management.
  • Support multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Contribute to continuous improvements within the CAD and design function.

About You:

We're looking for someone who is organised, detail-oriented and enjoys solving technical challenges. You'll be confident working independently while also building strong working relationships across the business and with external stakeholders.

You will ideally have:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience using AutoCAD (or equivalent CAD software).
  • A relevant qualification in CAD, Engineering, Design or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong technical drawing and layout design skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate work.
  • The ability to interpret technical information and customer requirements.
