Next Generation are proud to have been appointed to recruit for a Machine Shop Supervisor to work with a well-established engineering company based near Halesowen. As the Machine Shop Supervisor you will be responsible for helping the business achieve daily production targets whilst quality is maintained at all times whilst optimizing machining efficiencies.

Duties of the Machine Shop Supervisor:

  • Planning & organisation of works orders & labour within the department to achieve agreed daily O.T.D. & recoveries; ensuring production time is fully utilized & productivity maximized.
  • Ensure timesheets are completed & booked.
  • Parts are produced in accordance with approved quality standards, procedures & process techniques as defined by the route cards & drawings.
  • Ensuring that standard working practices are followed on all operations in terms of Workflow, WIP quantities, process/cycle times and procedures.
  • Continually monitors existing production techniques/methods & where identified implements improvements or alterations via the correct procedures.
  • Monitors, analyses & orders department consumable stock levels.
  • Liaise with Maintenance on breakdowns, P/M's & W/O's of equipment to minimise downtime & maximise machine availability.

The successful candidate for the Machine Shop Supervisor position will have the following experience:

  • 3 - 5 years experience as Supervisor / Team Leader within a machining environment (Milling and turning) (Essential).
  • Hands on machining experience (Desirable).
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings (Essential).
  • Experience working within heavy engineering (Desirable).
