This role will provide exposure to both operational and strategic HR activities, offering an excellent development opportunity within a growing and acquisitive organisation.

Reporting to the Senior Group HR Partner, you will be responsible for managing your own employee relations caseload and delivering high-quality HR support across all aspects of the employee lifecycle. You will support managers with employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management and performance concerns, while also contributing to wider People initiatives that support business growth, employee engagement and the successful integration of acquired businesses.

This is an ideal opportunity for a confident and commercially minded HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is looking to broaden their experience and develop into a future HR Business Partner role.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive HR advice and guidance to managers across designated business areas on all aspects of the employee lifecycle.
  • Manage an employee relations caseload independently, including disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence management and flexible working matters.
  • Coach and support managers in handling people matters confidently, ensuring compliance with company policies and employment legislation.
  • Support employee retention, engagement and wellbeing initiatives aligned to business objectives.
  • Assist with the integration of newly acquired businesses, embedding Group policies, procedures and people practices.
  • Support the review, development and implementation of HR policies and procedures to ensure consistency, compliance and best practice.
  • Contribute to organisational development and talent initiatives, including succession planning, performance management and employee development.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider People team, including Recruitment, Learning & Development and ESG colleagues, to deliver group-wide initiatives.
  • Analyse HR data and metrics to identify trends and support informed decision making.
  • Support employee engagement activities and wellbeing programmes across the Group.
  • Ensure all HR activity is legally compliant and aligned with current employment legislation and best practice.
  • Assist the Senior Group HR Partner with strategic people projects and wider HR initiatives as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Ideally CIPD Level 5 qualified (or working towards), with strong generalist HR experience.
  • Previous experience operating as a Senior HR Advisor or equivalent within a fast-paced organisation.
  • Confident managing a varied employee relations caseload independently, including disciplinary, grievance, absence and performance management cases.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and its practical application.
  • Experience providing professional HR advice and coaching to managers at different levels.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build credible working relationships across the business.
  • Ability to balance operational HR responsibilities with involvement in wider people projects and initiatives.
  • Experience supporting organisational change, business growth or acquisitions would be advantageous.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to interpret HR metrics and identify trends.
  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of how effective people practices support business performance.
  • Adaptable, resilient and comfortable working within a growing and evolving organisation.
