We believe everyone deserves a safe, high-quality place to live. If you want a role where your technical skills directly improve people's lives, you belong with us.
The Role
We are looking for a Surveyor to support our Planned Programme. You will lead large-scale, multi-year projects to upgrade and improve our housing stock. Operating as our in-house property expert, you will oversee contract delivery, manage budgets, and make sure our homes meet all regulatory requirements including the Decent Homes Standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Contract Management: Act as the Client Representative on major partnering contracts, overseeing component replacements and large improvements.
- Financial Control: Manage capital and service budgets (£1m+), providing cash flow forecasting, financial accounts, and monthly variation reports.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect on-site works completed by contractors to ensure excellent quality, statutory compliance, and strong Value for Money.
- Health & Safety: Maintain zero-compromise safety standards across our properties, ensuring partners strictly adhere to Landlord Health and Safety legislation.
- Data Integrity: Keep our asset database completely up to date to help map out long-term investment strategies.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience: A strong track record of managing £1million+ planned building works, public procurement, and residential contracts. Extensive relevant experience in lieu of professional membership.
- Technical Qualifications: You are ideally a member of CIOB, hold an intermediate RICS grade, or are a Member of the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) or have substantial relevant experience.
- Skills: Excellent budget management, ability to resolve commercial disputes, and top-tier communication skills to connect with contractors and residents alike.
