Contek Recruitment are representing our client, a well-established precision engineering manufacturer based in Gloucester, who are looking to recruit an experienced Quality Inspector to join their growing Quality team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a modern manufacturing business supplying high-precision machined components into demanding industries including aerospace, defence, energy and other highly regulated sectors.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that all products meet the highest quality standards before reaching the customer.

Working within a well-equipped inspection department, you will be responsible for carrying out first-off, in-process and final inspection of complex precision machined components using a variety of inspection techniques and equipment.

The Role Carry out first-off, in-process and final inspection of precision engineered components.

Inspect components using CMMs (Coordinate Measuring Machines), optical measuring equipment and conventional inspection tools.

Use measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers, height gauges, bore gauges, thread gauges and shadowgraphs.

Interpret detailed engineering drawings, GD&T and customer specifications.

Produce accurate inspection reports and maintain quality documentation.

Record and analyse measurement results to ensure compliance with customer requirements.

Support investigations into non-conforming products and assist with root cause analysis.

Work closely with Production and Engineering teams to resolve quality issues.

Ensure customer quality standards are consistently achieved while helping to reduce scrap and improve Right First Time performance.

Maintain high housekeeping and calibration standards within the inspection department.

The Ideal Candidate Previous experience as a Quality Inspector within a precision engineering or CNC machining environment.

Experience inspecting complex machined components.

Competent using CMMs and conventional measuring equipment.

Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings and geometric tolerances (GD&T).

Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.

Good computer literacy and experience completing quality documentation.

A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.

Knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality systems would be advantageous.

Monday to

Thursday: 7:30am - 4:30pm

Friday: 6:30am - 1:00pm
