Operations Director Extraction/Ventilation £70,000£90,000 Basic Salary + Executive Benefits Central Scotland A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced Operations Director to work alongside an outgoing Managing Director before taking the lead of a well-established engineering contractor.
For over 50 years, the business has designed, manufactured and installed specialist industrial ventilation and extraction systems , delivering technically complex engineering projects across the UK.
With an experienced team, an outstanding reputation and a loyal customer base, this is an opportunity to lead a successful business through its next phase of growth.
The Role Working alongside the Managing Director during a structured handover, you'll assume responsibility for the day-to-day leadership of the business before taking full operational ownership.
Leading a team of approximately 20 across manufacturing, CAD, project delivery, installation and administration, you'll ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and profitably while maintaining the highest standards of quality and customer service.
You'll oversee the complete project lifecyclefrom enquiry and technical design through manufacture, installation and final handoverworking closely with customers, consultants and contractors to deliver technically demanding engineering projects.
You'll also play a key role in driving operational performance, developing your team, strengthening customer relationships and identifying opportunities to support the continued growth of the business.
About You You'll be an experienced operational leader with a strong engineering background and the credibility to lead both people and projects.
A background in HVAC, industrial ventilation, extraction, LEV or mechanical building services is required.
You might have built your career within an engineering contractor or specialist mechanical business and understand how technically complex projects are designed, manufactured, installed and delivered.
You'll be comfortable discussing mechanical drawings and engineering solutions with customers, consultants and contractors, while providing clear leadership to both office and site-based teams.
You may currently be a: General Manager Operations Director Head of Operations Contracts Director Senior Operations Manager Above all, you'll be commercially aware, operationally driven and motivated by the opportunity to lead an established engineering business through its next stage of growth.
