The Company

Serving some of the UK’s most recognisable brands, Merson Signs is an expert designer, manufacturer and installer of signs. We are now looking for a Graphics Production Operator to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working Monday to Wednesday, 6:30am - 5:00pm, and Thursday, 6:30am - 3:00pm.

This is an exciting opportunity for a printing professional with experience of EFI VUTEk QS2 and/or HP Latex 360 printers to join our ever-growing business. You’ll have the chance to put your specialist expertise to its best use, working with state-of-the-art equipment to hone your craft and produce exceptional work for some of the UK’s most recognisable brands. What’s more, with just a four-day working week with every Friday off, you’ll have more time to make the most of life outside of work, whether that’s enjoying a long weekend, pursuing your passions or simply having more time for yourself.

The Role

As a Graphics Production Operator, you will produce high-quality large-format printed graphics, ensuring every job meets the required standards and production deadlines. Working from approved artwork, you will prepare and manage print jobs, select appropriate substrates and settings, and operate our EFI VUTEk QS2 UV and HP Latex 360 printing equipment to achieve accurate, high-quality results. You will also oversee quality throughout the production process, checking colour consistency and print accuracy before finishing and preparing completed graphics for dispatch or installation.

Additionally, you will:

  • Check artwork files for print suitability
  • Use RIP software to prepare and manage print queues
  • Identify and resolve artwork and production issues
  • Trim, mount, laminate and finish graphics
  • Package completed work to prevent transit damage
  • Carry out daily printer maintenance and cleaning
  • Monitor ink levels, print heads and consumables

About You

To be considered as a Graphics Production Operator, you will need:

  • Experience operating EFI VUTEk QS2 and/or HP Latex 360 printers
  • Experience working with a variety of print media and substrates
  • Knowledge of large-format digital print production
  • An understanding of colour management and RIP software
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
  • The ability to manage multiple jobs and meet deadlines
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
