Estimator - Passive Fire
Firelink Protection Ltd, part of Odevo Group UK, we are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Estimator to join our growing team.
Established in 2017, Firelink has experienced continued growth and has increased its headcount by more than 50% over the past 18 months.
We are looking for a proactive team member who can help us continue delivering high-quality fire protection solutions to clients across the UK.

The
Role:
As an Estimator, you will manage assigned tender opportunities from initial enquiry through to submission.
You will review project information, prepare accurate cost estimates, liaise with clients and subcontractors, and support projects to ensure costs remain aligned with approved forecasts.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage allocated projects from receipt of enquiry through to tender submission.
- Review tender documentation, drawings, specifications and employer requirements.
- Prepare accurate and competitive estimates, quotations, cost plans and bills of quantities.
- Obtain, assess and manage quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Respond to client, supplier and subcontractor enquiries in a professional and timely manner.
- Ensure tenders are completed and submitted within required deadlines.
- Identify risks, opportunities, exclusions and assumptions within tender submissions.
- Work closely with project delivery teams to support a smooth handover following award.
- Monitor live projects and assist in ensuring costs remain in line with forecasts and budgets.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and colleagues.
- Travel to sites and client meetings throughout the UK when required.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday, 08:0016:00
- Occasional out-of-hours work may be required to meet tender deadlines or project requirements.
- This role involves occasional travel throughout the UK.
To be successful in this role, you will have
- Minimum 4 years estimating experience, ideally within construction, fire protection or a related industry.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the UK.
- Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate work under pressure.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work independently, use initiative and contribute effectively as part of a team.
- Competence in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel and Power Point.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
The following would be advantageous
- A recognised construction, estimating or quantity surveying qualification, or equivalent industry experience.
- Experience preparing costings, estimates, quotations and bills of quantities.
- The ability to interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of fire safety principles and fire protection systems.
- Health and Safety awareness, including an understanding of HSE requirements.
- Experience working with subcontractors, suppliers and tender portals.
