We are working with a growing IT consultancy in Glasgow that is looking to add an experienced Cloud Engineer to its technical team. You will work across a range of client environments, helping businesses design, implement and improve their cloud infrastructure. The role will involve a mixture of project delivery, cloud migrations, automation and ongoing technical support.
This would suit someone with strong Microsoft Azure experience who enjoys working with different customers and taking ownership of technical projects from initial discovery through to delivery and handover.
What You'll Be Doing
- Designing, implementing and supporting Microsoft Azure environments
- Delivering cloud migration and modernisation projects
- Building and managing Azure infrastructure, including virtual machines, networking, storage and identity
- Supporting Microsoft 365, Entra ID and Intune environments
- Implementing security, monitoring, backup and disaster-recovery solutions
- Creating and maintaining Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or Bicep
- Automating deployments and operational tasks using PowerShell or Azure DevOps
- Producing clear technical documentation, including build guides and handover documents
- Troubleshooting complex cloud and infrastructure issues
- Working directly with customers to understand their requirements and recommend suitable solutions
- Collaborating with architects, project managers and support teams to deliver projects successfully
What We're Looking For
- Strong commercial experience working with Microsoft Azure
- Experience delivering cloud migration or infrastructure transformation projects
- Good knowledge of Azure networking, including VNets, VPNs, NSGs and private endpoints
- Experience with Entra ID, Conditional Access and role-based access control
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Intune
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform or Bicep
- PowerShell or other scripting and automation experience
- Understanding of cloud security, governance, backup and monitoring
- Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills
- Confidence working directly with customers and explaining technical concepts clearly
- Previous experience within an MSP or IT consultancy would be advantageous
Desirable Experience
- Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305 or AZ-700
- Azure DevOps or CI/CD pipeline experience
- Exposure to AWS
- Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory and hybrid infrastructure
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework and Azure Well-Architected Framework
- Experience producing high-level or low-level technical designs
