Baltic Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with Express Engineering, a leading Oil & Gas equipment manufacturer based in the North East, to support with their search for an experienced Buyer.

Key

Duties: Checking, creation, and maintenance of Bills of Material within the MRP system.

Generation and maintenance of RFQ's into the supply chain.

Sourcing and procurement of materials, components, and services to meet the business MRP and build plan needs.

Focus on negotiation of best lead times and pricing to suit contract and overall business needs.

Interact with other buyers to develop best practices and leverage spend commodities.

Control, management and expediting of all purchased items.

Taking responsibility and control for the addition of new supplier setup within the MRP System and associated internal sign-off requirements.

Updating of internal MRP systems, plus supporting information in line with latest supplier feedback.

Understanding the business needs and external marketplace opportunities that can drive improvement.

Leveraging spend across all purchases within the business.

Risk assessing the business and suppliers to maintain a reliable and continuous supply.

Resolving process and / or supplier related issues, as escalated from the business, supply chain, sales and operations.

Key

Requirements: Have demonstrable experience of working within a purchasing / sourcing role ideally within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

Experience of purchasing materials in line with MRP/ERP requirements.

An understanding of engineering specification, Bill of Materials and drawings.

The ability to communicate at all levels.

Negotiation, customer service and consulting skills.

Proficiency in using Microsoft Office programs.

A good knowledge of Excel is essential.

Package: Competitive salary depending on experience.

Monday-Thursday 7:30AM-4:30PM, Friday 7:30AM-1:30PM(some flexibility offered). 25 days annual holiday in addition to statutory bank holidays.
