Plan and deliver creative and differentiated English lessons that meet the individual needs and abilities of pupils.

Implement strategies for raising achievement and support students in developing confidence and competence in reading, writing, speaking and listening.

Have knowledge of working with accreditation boards such as ASDAN and be committed to further professional development.

Help young people with their learning and personal development.

Support pupils to make progress against their EHCP targets.

Safeguard and protect our pupils.

Raise attendance, attainment and achievement.

Work alongside pupils to support both their academic learning and essential life skills.

Skills and Qualifications Due to this being a new provision, it is essential that candidates applying hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) .

Ability to communicate effectively with a range of people both verbally and in writing.

Ability to think creatively and adapt learning to meet the needs of each pupil.

Well organised and self-motivated.

Confident user of IT as a teaching and working tool.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues and external agencies.

Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Ability to Demonstrate Appropriate Knowledge of: Current Disability/SEN theory and practice, particularly linked to Autism.

Safeguarding and child protection frameworks.

Relevant legal and regulatory frameworks.

Inclusive approaches to raising attendance, attainment and achievement.

Effective strategies for teaching English to learners with a range of additional needs and learning profiles.

Developing literacy skills across reading, writing, speaking and listening.
