The below job description will outline this position of: Mechanic As a Mechanic, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a fleet of Fast Rescue Craft Vessels, ensuring all mechanical systems are operating safely and efficiently.
Working within a busy workshop environment and on vessels in port, you will support planned maintenance activities whilst maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.

Duties and Responsibilities of the
Mechanic: Service, diagnose and repair both inboard and outboard diesel and petrol Fast Rescue Craft.
Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure vessel reliability and availability.
Complete inflatable tube and fibreglass repairs when required.
Maintain accurate planned maintenance, purchasing and job records.
Ensure materials and spare parts are correctly allocated against maintenance tasks.
Work in accordance with company safety procedures, including Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Permit to Work systems and isolation procedures.
Assist with deliveries, collections and logistics for vessels operating within Aberdeen Harbour.
Support workshop operations and carry out maintenance activities onboard vessels whilst alongside.
Participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota as required.
Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role as directed by management.
Qualifications and Requirements for the
Mechanic: Time-served Mechanical Engineer/Mechanic or equivalent qualification.
Previous experience working on diesel and petrol engines.
Candidates from the Marine, HGV, Plant, Agricultural, Heavy Vehicle, Forklift or similar mechanical backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Full UK driving licence.
Basic IT skills and experience using maintenance systems would be advantageous.
Strong commitment to safe working practices.
Flexible approach to working hours, including occasional travel and out-of-hours support.
Good communication skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
