EMC Test Engineer Orion is working with a market leader that is seeking an EMC Test Engineer to support the qualification and certification of advanced engineering systems.

This is a key role focused on ensuring products meet stringent electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and environmental compliance requirements, contributing directly to successful product qualification and programme delivery.

Our client is a leading engineering organisation operating within a highly regulated, safety-critical industry.

They specialise in the design, development, testing and support of advanced electronic and mechanical systems used across a range of complex platforms.

With a strong focus on innovation, quality and compliance, they work on cutting-edge technologies and deliver solutions that meet rigorous industry standards.

Key Responsibilities of the EMC Test Engineer Author, develop, and own qualification test plans and procedures, with a strong focus on EMC and environmental testing.

Define and execute EMC test strategies covering RF interference, electromagnetic compatibility, and environmental conditions (e. g. temperature extremes, ruggedisation).

Perform EMC and environmental test activities and produce comprehensive reports documenting results and compliance outcomes.

Manage, organise, and support environmental and EMC testing programmes across multiple projects.

Ensure systems meet relevant regulatory and certification standards.

Mentor and support junior engineers, including delegating procedural tasks and reviewing/amending their work to support development.

Requirements of the EMC Test Engineer Proven experience in EMC testing, verification, or environmental qualification.

Strong understanding of EMC principles, RF interference, and relevant test standards.

Experience within highly regulated industries.

Ability to write and review technical documentation (test plans, procedures, reports).

Degree in Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
