We are looking for a Part-Time Mental Health Support Worker to provide day-to-day practical support to residents with complex mental health needs. Reporting to the Deputy Manager (Exmouth), you will play a key role in supporting residents to develop independent living skills, with the aim of enabling them to move on to independent living.
This is an excellent opportunity to work with residents using trauma-informed practice, a strengths-based approach, and advantaged thinking to develop, implement, and review person-centred support plans. You will be part of a passionate and committed team dedicated to transforming lives and helping individuals achieve positive, sustainable outcomes.
What you'll be doing:
- Provide high quality 1:1 and group support to residents in accordance with their identified support needs, with a view to enabling individuals to identify and develop their talents and achieve their goals and aspirations.
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies, including Devon Partnership Trust, Social Care, and other community-based services, to provide a holistic service to our residents.
- Ensure all records are maintained to a high standard and completed in a timely manner.
- Work with the wider teams to ensure that our buildings are maintained, safe, and provide a psychologically informed environment.
- Contribute to our Service Delivery Policy and Supported Housing Strategy.
What you'll bring:
- Experience of working in a supported living environment or a similar setting.
- Experience of managing a caseload of clients and developing and implementing person-centred Support Plans.
- Excellent verbal, written, and influencing skills.
- A proactive, motivated, and can-do attitude.
- The ability to de-escalate difficult situations.
- The ability to use various IT systems, including Microsoft Office packages and databases.
Working Arrangements:
The role will predominantly be based at St Andrews House, Exmouth. However, there may be occasions when you will be asked to work across our Exeter & East Devon Mental Health Services, all of which are accessible via good public transport routes. The role will predominantly follow a working pattern of 09:30 to 18:00 on either a Monday or Wednesday. On Fridays, you will work 09:30 to 18:00 one week and, on the following week, 09:00 to 22:30, including a Sleep-In (paid in addition to your salary), finishing at 16:00 on Saturday. Once every four weeks, you will attend the site from 10:00 to 12:00 on a Tuesday for a staff meeting.
