One of Exeter's longest standing manufacturers of a quality, truly British product seeks a hands-on, 360 generalist HR Manager to continue to take responsibility for all aspects of the Human Resources (HR) function. The HR Manager will be called upon to nurture and develop the business culture, supporting consistency throughout the business; whilst providing a critical link between multiple UK locations.
The Role:
- Evolution of the company's HR policy and practice, ensuring impact and alignment with business strategy.
- To proactively advise on best practice HR and, where necessary, take a hands-on role in resolving issues/problems.
- Overseeing the workload of one HR Advisor.
- Ensure HR initiatives are effectively implemented throughout the organisation.
- Oversight and direct involvement of the recruitment process, from requirement to appointment, induction and completion of probationary period.
- Application of performance management, absence, disciplinary and grievance procedures in line with Company policies and procedures.
You'll Offer:
- Five years HR experience at a senior level, specifically within a Manufacturing and/or Retail setting. Ideally CIPD qualifications.
- A sound knowledge of personnel practice and procedure together with an up-to-date knowledge of employment law.
- A desire to work in a hands-on ER environment, where the people really matter. This really is a 360 role so very hands-on, admin heavy and interactive with staff at all levels, from Operator to Director.
- Strong organisational and analytical skills with excellent communication abilities to match.
- Previous experience of effectively using an HR database.
