If you would rather be outdoors and hands-on than stuck behind a desk, this is the role for you. This is an Electrical Technician role with a growing renewable energy business near Ely, on a days-only four-on, four-off shift pattern.
As an Electrical Technician you will maintain and improve the electrical systems that keep a growing renewable energy operation running safely and efficiently, working on the plants that turn organic waste into clean energy. It is a highly varied, hands-on role, from planned preventative maintenance and fault-finding through to installations, testing, inspections and breakdown response. Be clear on one thing: this is not a desk job. Up to 90% of your time will be spent outdoors across operational plant areas, often at height and in all weathers.

Job Responsibilities- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance in line with maintenance schedules
- Diagnosing and resolving electrical faults across site systems and equipment
- Performing electrical repairs, installations, inspections and testing to a high standard
- Modifying and maintaining control panels
- Supporting breakdown investigations and returning equipment to service quickly and safely
- Working on motors, drives, instrumentation, control systems and process equipment
- Fault-finding on three-phase electrical systems and safety circuits
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records using company logging systems
- Supporting mechanical maintenance activities where required
- Working outdoors and at height across operational plant areas, in all weather conditions
To succeed as an Electrical Technician you will need:
- Industrial or manufacturing electrical maintenance experience
- Experience of electrical breakdown repair, maintenance and installation
- Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostics skills
- Experience of control panel modification, three-phase systems and safety circuits
- Experience of motor testing, inverter drives and 4-20mA instrumentation and control signals
- Good mechanical aptitude and confidence working around plant machinery
- A full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK
- PLC and I/O fault-finding, SCADA and industrial networks experience is desirable
- An HNC, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, and City & Guilds 2391 or 2392 is desirable
- A 16th, 17th or 18th Edition wiring regulations qualification, which is desirable
As an Electrical Technician you will receive:
- A salary of up to £40,000 depending on experience
- A days-only, four-on, four-off, 12-hour shift pattern with overtime available
- 6am to 6pm
