We are looking for an experienced and driven Business Development Professional to join DT Civils Ltd and be instrumental in the growth of our business. Reporting to the Managing Director, this role will involve growing our existing business, leveraging our current client relationships as well as developing new business, collaborating directly with Developers and NAVs, securing project awards in the construction of Water networks on new housing developments.

This role places a strong emphasis on new business development and is ideally suited to a motivated individual who thrives on generating their own leads. The successful candidate will be confident in proactive cold outreach and experienced in developing opportunities through the full sales cycle, from initial prospecting and client meetings to enquiries, negotiations, and securing instructions.

Responsibilities:
  • Identifying new Self Lay Water opportunities for new developments.
  • Building and maintaining current relationships with developers, consultants and NAV companies.
  • Produce monthly sales & pipeline forecasts.
  • Securing and developing strong new client relationships with regular face to face liaison.
  • Develop and implement sales and marketing growth strategies and react to market feedback and changes to drive future sales.
  • Ensure sales targets are not only met but exceeded.
  • Manage full sales cycle from prospecting to proposal.
  • Introduction of other utilities and services within the scope of the business (Multi-Utility/Offsite Civil Engineering and Directional Drilling).
  • Covering our full Operational area (From the midlands to south coast and Wales).
  • Attend the office 2 days per week.
  • Working closely with operations team to understand client requirements and solutions for project delivery.
  • Attend seminars and events where appropriate to build relationships and assist in your personal development.
  • Support our Marketing team to build brand awareness on social media.

Skills and Experience:
  • In depth experience and knowledge of the Water industry.
  • 3+ years of experience in Business Development within the Water industry.
  • Previous experience / background in the NAV / SLP market / Utilities.
  • Sales and Tender management including client negotiation and commercial risk management.
  • Knowledge of other utilities such as Gas and Electric is desirable.
  • A flexible approach to travel to work locations.
