We are seeking a proactive and organised Purchasing Assistant to support the procurement and supply chain function within a fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment in Chandlers Ford. Working closely with production, engineering and senior management, you'll help ensure materials are sourced efficiently to meet production schedules, customer demand and new product introduction requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Raise and manage purchase orders for electronic components, PCBs, PCBAs, consumables and subcontract services.
  • Source new and existing parts, obtaining supplier quotations and comparing price, lead times and availability.
  • Support Bill of Materials (BOM) maintenance and New Product Introduction (NPI) sourcing activities.
  • Monitor deliveries, expedite orders and proactively manage shortages and supply risks.
  • Maintain accurate MRP data, supplier records, pricing and lead times.
  • Support stock checks, materials planning and supplier communication.
  • Work closely with procurement, production, engineering and stores to ensure material availability and continuity of supply.

Ideal Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a purchasing, procurement, materials or supply chain support role.
  • Strong administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident using Excel and any experience or knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, although training will be given.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Any experience or knowledge within electronics manufacturing, PCB assembly or engineering would be highly advantageous, not essential.
  • Knowledge of BOMs, electronic components, supplier management and NPI processes is desirable.

Salary: £15.00 - £16.50 per hour, which equates to approximately £15,600 - £17,160 per year

Hours: 20 hours per week | Monday-Thursday, 9:30am-2:30pm (Some flex on hours)

This role has scope for further hours as the company grows also up to full time hours (37.5 hours) if required.
