Location: East Grinstead, West Sussex (The Birches, Unit 19)

Salary: £13.46 per hour + 20% Shift Allowance

Hours: Average 38 hours per week

Shifts: 3-week daytime rotating pattern between 6:30am and 6:30pm, including 1 weekend in every 3 weeks.

Shift Pattern:

  • Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
  • Week 2: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
  • Week 3: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Formulation Technician to join our production laboratory team in East Grinstead. This role is ideal for candidates with laboratory, pharmaceutical, scientific manufacturing, or quality-focused production experience.

Working within a production laboratory and aseptic dispensing environment, you will manufacture Sensititre antimicrobial susceptibility testing plates while ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare antimicrobial solutions in accordance with SOPs and production documentation, including weighing, dissolution, and dilution activities.
  • Set up, operate, and monitor dispensing pumps to ensure quality and on-time production output.
  • Perform production activities including pouring, priming, and weight verification checks.
  • Manufacture ancillary solutions, including media, buffers, and excipients.
  • Conduct routine compliance and calibration checks on laboratory equipment, including pipettes, balances, and extraction equipment.
  • Maintain and monitor stock levels of raw materials, consumables, intermediates, and laboratory supplies.
  • Clean, wash, and autoclave laboratory equipment, glassware, pumps, and production materials.
  • Accurately complete production records and documentation in line with GMP and quality requirements.
  • Utilise SAP ERP, Microsoft Office, and other internal systems to process and manage production information.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain high standards of health, safety, and quality compliance.

  • Desirable Skills & Experience:
  • Previous laboratory, production laboratory, or manufacturing experience.
  • Experience working within a GMP, GLP, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food, chemical, or regulated manufacturing environment.
  • A-Level qualification, BTEC, or equivalent in a scientific subject.
  • Experience using SAP, ERP systems, or laboratory software.
  • Understanding of quality control and documentation practices.
